We Spectated a Show!

On September 15th, 2018 the Piper family went to a dog show. "Okay?" You may think, if you've never been to a dog show! The amount of big floofers and small, happy dogs, pups on edge, and doggos ready to rock and roll their classes was exciting! So many beautiful dogs and their owners, all in one place!

The downside was it was a rainy weekend and the rings were outside. Blech. But even after having to wait in the rain for our breed of choice (dachshunds obviously haha) it was well worth the hour drive to and from the event!

We took Aidan with us, since we hope to show him starting in January of next year! He was so interested in all the different dogs, and goings on. We even purchased him a cute new lead for when he finally makes his debut! He got a meet some other doxies belonging to some of our breeders friends and he got to sniff so many different breeds!

Vivienne, our seven month old daughter, was thrilled to see so many of her favorite animal. She especially likes the big doggies, which makes us think we may need to start breeding standard doxies hehe. After a while it got cold, and she got tired, but was content to sleep in daddy's arms while mommy watched the dachshunds in the ring, finally!

We got to watch the smooths do their rounds, and our friends even won some ribbons! Then we got to watch some longhairs, which Aidan should be competing in! There were three beautiful longhaired shaded reds that went on to the finals. The largest of the three, a standard, won! Their conformation was amazing and really inspired us to breed towards that goal! Being able to see such beautiful dachshunds in person is very eye opening!

If you're interested in attending a show, let us know, send us an email and we can maybe help you find a show that's coming up in an area closest to you! Who knows, you may even see us there!
